Here is a healthier option for a drink that wont load you up with sugar. The NorCal Margarita is a Paleo option thought up by Robb Wolf and it actually has some cool ways that it helps buffer the effects of having a drink. Most of the negative impacts a drink has on your fitness isn't from the alcohol itself. Our bodies are actually pretty good at processing out limited amounts because alcohol is present in a lot of the foods we eat. Remember to drink plenty of water anytime you drink alcohol, a big part of a hangover is from dehydration!
1 1/2 - 3oz of a grain free alcohol. Tequila, Vodka (from potatoes not rye)
1 Lime - Pulp and all
Sparkling water or club soda
Salt for the rim if you're feeling crazy
The grain free alcohol gives you a cleaner drink with less gluten for your body to deal with.
The lime buffers the insulin effect the alcohol will have on your system which means less bodyfat storage
The soda water will help deliver the alcohol into your system quicker so you won't have to drink as much to feel the effects.
If you want a little extra, add stevia!
